11:32 am - Unicorn Jelly then and now!

So hey I was looking over my friends list trying to prune out people who I wasn't appreciably friends with really (especially those ones with the green arrows of "they don't have you listed anyway, and you don't really read their entries, so why keep them!") and I noticed this community sitting here which I apparently joined a while back. But no posts have been made here since like 2004! So I thought I'd post and ask how everyone was doing.

I kind of have been thinking lately about re-reading UJ. I bought the books a while back, so maybe this time around I'll read them in book form--if only I can figure out where I have put them, since I've moved like four times since then and a lot of books have gotten shuffled around.

Has anyone had the experience of re-reading it a long time after the first time? Was it like you remembered? Does the experience change with your altered perspective from being older or what have you?

6:22 pm - UJ forum status: NG. :

Alright, UJ types, listen up.

Many of you might have noticed that the UJ forum is down. I sent a letter to Jennifer, and she answered:

Oh, we had a big hard drive crash on the forum server. It wiped the thing out. Stephen has been working hard
to fix things. Heck...we just got email back tonight!

Sigh. Entropy.

Jennifer ^.^

So now~ you~ know~.

7:38 pm - a new post!

Hi folks.

This is nemo of UJ forums... if anyone watching this is regular there still, can someone post an apology for my absence?

I've been reorganising aspects of my life of late... this last 6 months in fact, and that's only accelerated since 2004 dawned.
As of... a little over 3 hours ago, I find myself without any regular job for the first time in the best part of a decade... and with no jobhunting skills to speak of... and generally feeling underqualified and lacking in confidence about all the things that everyone says I can do. Gah.

So anyways, now I'm unemployed maybe I'll actually get back on the UJ forums a bit more... but, I can't guarantee that. I've got more time, but the only internet access I have is crappy modem linkage, and I really need to focus on a way to earn money again...

To all the UF'ites, *hugs* I miss you all lots

.../Nemo. (In need of a hot date, a hot bath, and a hot job... in no particular order)

1:52 pm - I just noticed this community so..

So... umm.. no posts in a while around here. Has everyone in this community, seen Jennifer's newest work? Pastel Defender Heliotrope? It has been truly wonderful so far, i've been tossing around some ideas to myself over it.

Pastel is in a hyper-spatial conduit ? Could this be an arcduct as outlined in Jennifer's Gorbald? And in her Tarot? Pastel seems to be a relatively stable universe. The Gorbald seems to state that an arcduct would be much more unstable. However her page from Enigmatic Ground, seems to state that they are heading towards something. And an arcduct does bridge two colliding universes.. Perhaps the universes are relatively similar ? This might account for the relative stability of the arcduct, since there would be less conflicting physical laws between the two universes.

current mood: contemplative

4:22 pm - YAY

I'm so glad that there's a UJ community. This is one of the best epics ever written and I have been looking around for someone else who knows how to play Taasen. I've set up a notation system, and I have a board, so if anyone wants to play by email just drop me a comment! *hops away excitedly*

On Journal Layout: Most you can do with a free community is this pretty much layout wise

On Community Icons: My icons are UJ related...

On mood Icons: I'll get back to you on that...I wanted to remake my Kay Icon set with the new icons, just a matter of coding it up really...

current mood: good

11:08 pm - suumi paivaa!

This is the 'beta' version of 'Wiccalchemy', the LJ community for fans of the recently-completed webcomic Unicorn Jelly.

Things needed:

- better design. Anyone who can help me make this look more like the site (or just look niftier in general), lemme know.
- community userpic. Again, the only requirements are 'UJ-related' and 'nifty'.
- mood icons? This is only available with a paid account, and I'm poor, but if anyone really really wants to make and have UJ mood icons (little Unis and KayWais and whathaveyou, or just generalized Jellies), I ain't stoppin' ya.
- PEOPLE! Though I'd imagine this will be fixed in due time. ^^

And yes, I need to update the interests list and add clever comment tags and stuff. But I just wanted to slap somethin' up here just to get things started and then refine it as we go.

Conversation topics: Anything Goes. Be kind, LJ-cut posts for length and spoilers (for n00bs)... for those who don't know the cut, the simple version is < lj-cut > (without the spaces) to start the cut portion and < / lj-cut > (again, no spaces) to end the cut portion.

And I'd say more, but it's lateish and been a long day and coherency is fading... woo!

If you have any suggestions for anything, let me know in a reply to this here posty-thingy.
